At Luzhniki stadium the Wi-fi network of high density on the basis of Cisco technologies is unrolled

On October 12, 2018 Cisco reported that in the summer of 2018 more than 54,000 viewers of the football matches which were taking place at Luzhniki stadium used free high-speed network Wi-fi on the basis of solutions of Cisco.

Creation of a high-speed wireless network for Luzhniki stadium - the project within which it was necessary to provide quality and speed of communication in the territory of more than 220 thousand sq.m. It was necessary to provide one-time Internet access for 80 thousand fans. All works are carried out less than in 5 months. Wi-fi networks for scenarios with a high density of users is the solution Cisco integrating wireless technologies, specialized software and services of support. So, for creation of network infrastructure of Luzhniki access points of Cisco 3702E, Cisco 8510 controllers and a management system of Cisco Prime Infrastructure were used.

The built Wi-fi network at Luzhniki stadium showed high rates of speed and reliability. Speed of the main and reserve channels was 10 Gbps everyone, at the same time speed on devices of users reached 5-8 Mbps. Availability of network conformed to requirements according to which not less than 15% of the total number of the audience had to get easy access in the Internet. In total during summer matches through Wi-fi network there passed more than 5,600 Gbytes of traffic. It became possible thanks to the solution Cisco High Density Experience (HDX) implemented in Cisco access points.
