In COLIN'S retail network the first stage of automation of a management system for trade is completed

The 1C-Rarus company completed the first stage of the international project on automation of retail network of COLIN'S clothes. With the help of 1C: Retail 8 the management system for shopping facilities which integrated about 200 shops of the company in Turkey is created.

Task

In 2010 COLIN’S set the object – to increase quality of management of retail stores. For this purpose understanding of the events in each shopping facility at a given time, control of the main business processes in shops was required.

It was required to create a centralized system of control and to include in it the outlets located in the different countries. A system had to provide the management of operational and reliable information about business processes:

• Receipt and movement of goods in warehouses of shops;
• Return of goods – work with buyers and with suppliers;
• Sales of goods and execution of the summary reporting on sales in each shopping facility of network;
• Work with money: receipt, movement between shopping facilities, cash desks of shop;
• Payment of goods by bank transfer;
• Formation and granting different discounts, support of loyalty systems.

Solution

On a decision instant about automation the Russian division of COLIN'S successfully used programs of the 1C: Enterprise system for accounting, payroll calculation and personnel management. The positive recommendations of the Russian employees convinced the management of COLIN'S to give preference to products of 1C. As a basis of an information system the solution "1C: Retail 8" is selected. Involved 1C-Rarus company in project implementation.

Stages of a big way

The project is separated into several phases by the geographical principle. At the first stage the shopping facilities located in Turkey are automated. Specialists 1C-Rarus carried out pilot implementation of 1C: Retail 8 in five shops of network.

In the course of start of a system developed 1C-Rarus and documented methodology of carrying out implementation. Data are transferred to IT specialists of COLIN'S network. It allowed them to automate independently 190 more shops in Turkey, having saved the proper quality level of work. All process of automation was followed by consulting support from specialists 1C-Rarus.

The successful completion of the first project phase allowed:

• Manage shops of retail chain stores in Turkey (about 200 objects) and to maintain functionality of their work;
• Create a single system of management and information exchange between shopping facilities and the central office thanks to integration of 1C: Retail 8 into the program installed at office of COLIN'S company;
• Implement a system in shops of all countries of presence of COLIN'S company.

On the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform the multilingual automated jobs with the following functionality are developed:

• Execution of operations of merchandising, sale, return of goods;
• Support of original discount programs;
• Setup of marketing actions;
• Obtaining reports on corporate standards.

According to the results of the first stage of cooperation the COLIN'S network received the tool consisting of methodology and practical skills of carrying out implementation for further development of a system in more than 20 countries of the world. Possibilities of the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform – reliability, scalability, technological effectiveness – will be able to ensure simultaneous smooth operation from 500 to 2500 shopping facilities in a system. Use of the unified information system in all countries of presence will simplify a company performance in the conditions of rapid growth of retail network.
