Konica Minolta updated a video surveillance system in DB Schenker

On January 20, 2020 the Konica Minolta company announced system implementation of intellectual video surveillance based on Mobotix devices in the international logistic company DB Schenker. Installation of video cameras with artificial intelligence technology allowed to ensure safety of objects of the company and also to reduce finance and labor costs of the company.

The DB Schenker company, division of the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn AG, is provider of the international logistics services. The main directions it activity are transportations by the land, air and marine transport and also contract logistics and supply chain management.

The company contains about 2 thousand offices from most of which part is located in the territory of Europe. DB Schenker works and in Bulgaria – before the Bulgarian division there was a problem of gain of security of warehouse objects.

A few years ago on record of cameras we saw silhouettes of people who tried to get on an object, but could not distinguish malefactors because of the low resolution of the camera. This case confirmed importance of existence of a modern video surveillance system with a high image quality. For security of DB Schenker selected intelligent systems of video surveillance of Mobotix. Specialists of Konica Minolta booked preproject audit and analyzed the existing security system. After that on an object the cameras were mounted and the system of video analytics is implemented.

The mounted cameras are equipped with the processor, the operating system and the built-in SD card. They write data at the same time on the SD card and the server of data storage. Thus, data will remain even if connection with the server will be interrupted.

Devices have artificial intelligence. It allows to analyze movements of objects in a frame and to reveal atypical behavior which can lead to incidents. Thanks to it operators timely obtain information on violations. Also cameras are capable to distinguish license plate numbers of vehicles and at the expense of it independently to pass cars on the territory of an object.

We developed surveillance cameras for which full-fledged work the server is not necessary. They work at software basis with artificial intelligence technology, and operators can watch only the most important events and incidents.
