The Softline company announced in January, 2016 project implementation according to the complex analysis of license compliance of the software of Microsoft set in DPO "Plastic". As a result the customer received recommendations about licensing taking into account specifics of IT infrastructure and also a detailed plan of optimization of management of IT assets.
The Plastik production association is a large processor of polymeric materials. The enterprise makes the modern packing materials, tough films of PVC for food and pharmaceutical industry granulated and the PVC sheet plastic compounds of different brands for the cable and shoe industry. The company has 6 technology productions where more than 1500 people are busy.
Project implementation was caused by absence at the enterprise of the effective instrument of accounting of program resources, and as a result, the complete information according to current contracts and licenses of Microsoft. For purchase planning of software in the future and expense optimization on IT infrastructure the decision on project implementation on inventory of program assets of Microsoft using methodology of Software Asset Management (SAM) was made.
Within the project specialists of Softline carried out inventory of software of all computer park of the customer, reconciliation of licenses with the actual credentials and also analyzed the documents of title concerning the software of Microsoft. Based on a research specialists of Softline prepared recommendations about optimization of a packet of the licenses belonging to the customer and also the plan of transition to the following SAM level that will allow the company to minimize legal and financial risks, to optimize expenses and also to effectively use software.
