Astana police now use robots to keep order at mass events

In November 2025, Astana law enforcement agencies began using four-legged Deep Robotics Lite 3 robots to ensure public order at public events. Autonomous robotic devices are used in public places, concerts, meetings and cultural events.

As emphasized on the Astana police website, the main tasks of the mechanisms are to record offenses, recognize faces in the crowd, ensure the safety of citizens, identify potential threats and promptly respond to them, as well as provide additional support to police officers in emergency situations.

The automated device supports a number of pre-installed movement algorithms, and the robot is based on a high-performance computing mechanism capable of performing trillions of operations per second. According to the Polisia.kz press service, Deep Robotics Lite 3 robots are distinguished by their exceptional maneuverability, the ability to collect data through sensors and cameras, as well as high-precision information analysis. These devices can operate in 24/7 mode without the need for an operator, ensuring the protection of public areas.

According to representatives of law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, thanks to the coordinated work of the police and the effective use of robotic complexes, mass events and concerts in Astana are held without incident.

According to Astana TV, the possibility of wider use of Deep Robotics Lite 3 robotic systems is being considered. It is assumed that in the future they will become a key element of the system of policing in all public zones of the capital, such as park areas, shopping complexes and sports arenas.^[1][2]
