The Omnicomm company announced on September 24, 2013 installation of 1500 explosion-proof Omnicomm LLS 20230 fuel level sensors on fuel trucks of the contingent of "International Security Assistance Force" (ISAF) of NATO in Afghanistan, by request of Defense Logistics Agency company.
Project Objective
Installation of Omnicomm sensors became a part of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) joint project and ORBCOMM company on equipment of logistics divisions of ISAF transport control systems. A main objective of the project - suppression of the plunders of fuel which reached considerable scales.
Project Progress
Based on the held tender ORBCOMM became the main contractor of the project.
Omnicomm fuel level sensors are selected for work as a part of the solution GlobalTrak owing to existence of explosion-proof execution and also the highest level of reliability during the work from the difficult climatic conditions providing considerable fluctuations of temperatures and atmospheric pressure and also the high level of resistance to vibration loads and dust content.
"We see the growing need of the market for solutions in the field of monitoring of transport and control of the transported fuel in such regions as Africa, Latin America and the Middle East where plunders of fuel are extremely widespread practice. We hope that our solution will become a serious restraining factor in a question of plunder in fuels in military and commercial zones worldwide and will allow to increase considerably efficiency of carriers of fuel", - Marc Eisenberg, CEO ORBCOMM emphasized.
