2024: Pilot using Phonendo

Pirogov.ai and Medhard conducted a pilot project in which specialists from the Dia-Med Medical Center (Chernushka, Perm Territory) studied the main aspects of the use of Phonendo in telemedicine in the context of the patient's distance from the specialist doctor. The pilot involved adult patients. Children and chronic patients did not enter the study. The sound of the lungs was recorded for 2-3 breaths. A total of 8 points were taken from the front and 10 from the back. This allowed us to obtain detailed information on the lung condition in the selected group of patients.

Paramedics recorded sounds, and a pulmonologist analyzed recordings using all Phonendo capabilities after transmitting data on the same day or the next.

One of the important functions of Phonendo is the possibility of telemedicine auscultation. Reviews of the usefulness of the information were varied: some doctors found the data valuable, but not all sounds were clearly heard, due to the different sound recording skills of paramedics. We, in turn, took note of the recommendations of specialists in order to continue to improve the technology of the device, " said Victoria Valueva, CEO of Medhard.

Pilot projects using the Phonendo stethoscope open up new opportunities for telemedicine, especially in regions with hard-to-reach health services. The importance of developments such as Phonendo lies in their potential to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of patient health at a distance.
