The first school with smart climate control, created using the building's digital twin, has opened in Russia. This was announced in early February 2023 in the development group "Airplane," which implemented this project.
The educational institution uses the Droid-Energy Manager artificial intelligence system and a digital twin of the school's engineering systems, which manages the entire building's power system. The climate and air quality platform in the school building, adjusts the engine speed of the fans of the supply and exhaust system and ventilates the premises until the required SO2 level is reached.
The digital twin is a dynamic mathematical modeling module that made it possible to accurately calculate the future loads of the school. Now - after the opening of the school - temperature, CO2 levels, humidity, illumination and energy consumption are monitored every minute thanks to the operation of more than 300 sensors.
It has been scientifically proven that when staying for several hours in a room with a CO2 concentration above 0.06-0.08%, schoolchildren can increase fatigue and reduce concentration of attention. Therefore, the comfortable microclimate of the building, including the temperature and level of carbon dioxide, directly affect well-being and academic performance, - said Mikhail Nikitin, director of design for social and cultural facilities of the Airplane group. |
According to him, the benefit of the project is also that students will be able to observe the work of the droid and in practice learn about modern technologies of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, energy efficiency and "green" technologies.
The three-story school in the residential complex "Big Putilkovo" has an area of 15.9 thousand square meters. m, it is designed for 1250 students. This school became a pilot project for the climate management system of an educational institution using artificial intelligence. In the future, the Samolet group is considering the possibility of scaling up successful experience in the framework of future projects, the developer's press service noted.
