Tasks

For 2013 the Door Market company works with one of the most difficult in processing and storage by goods: oversized bulky and heavy. Moreover, these goods have high degree of uniqueness: for example in one arrival of 80% of commodity units – are unique and have own numbers of articles. The most part of goods arrives not shtrikhkodirovanny.

Among the main problems of a warehouse complex of the company it is possible to select the following:

  • Acute shortage of the addresses of storage
  • Complexity of search of goods, permanent regrading.
  • Slow shipment, big operation cycle of goods

In addition, merchandising is characterized by acute fluctuations of supply rates.

The goods arrive several deliveries by the same order

The order of selection of goods is basic because of the size and the weight of doors.

As a result, the company management made the decision on system implementation of management of the warehouse IsWMS which could be adapted for specifics of a warehouse and tovaroobrabotka, would allow to automate labor-consuming transactions and to optimize storage

Solution

The tasks set for InStock Technologies were complicated also by system implementation deadlines. It was decided to make step-by-step system implementation of IsWMS.

Goods acceptance

Business processes of a system were significantly adapted for features of the customer. As a number of business processes, including acceptance of neshtrikhkodirovanny goods, required implementation of search of goods, the loading mechanism in WMS of usual multilevel hierarchy of articles of 1C and a search mechanism of goods in the terminal on this hierarchy was developed. On each door at acceptance the unique label allowing afterwards when processing goods already on is glued to execute its search in the reference book.

Selection of goods

Because of specifics of goods the decision was made that in this case, selection by the label (without radio terminal) which essence consists in the following will be the most effective method of selection:

  • Under the order labels with indication of storage location and a description of goods are printed. The sequence of labels defines the sequence of selection
  • The selector by the label finds goods, glues on it the label and moves to a packaging zone.
  • The packer scans labels of selection from goods and the unique label pasted at acceptance, thereby, controls correctness of selection.

Selection of goods (doors of different width) is conducted taking into account rules of laying of goods on pallets.

For the purpose of simplification of work with documents the module of electronic recognition of documents at which the paper documents created by a warehouse, with "manual" marks of clients and storekeepers are scanned (the normal scanner) at the end of the day in a chaotic order in the IsWMS tools is implemented. IsWMS automatically determines document type and its belonging to the order and ties the document to the order. Thus, by any order in IsWMS at any time both electronic documents of a system, and scans of paper shipment and accompanying documents are available to the manager.

For increase in efficiency of a warehouse and reduction of need for storage locations, the functionality of a krossdoking is implemented

Results

As a result of system implementation of management of the warehouse IsWMS in Door Market company the speed of shipments increased by 2-2.5 times. Respectively capacity of a warehouse increased.

Practically regrading cases were eliminated. It was succeeded to normalize merchandising in a warehouse: orders became possible to select in advance and to store in a zone of ready orders. At the same time, 20% — 30% of a trade flow pass according to the scheme of a krossdoking without placement in a warehouse.

Speed of work of employees of a warehouse considerably increased. The user of the shipping documentation can quickly find the article, for example at inventory, among more than 15000 options.

Administrative costs were considerably reduced by work with documents

Planning process of purchases was systematized. Purchases and arrival of goods it is planned in advance, taking into account load of a warehouse.

The next stage of development supposes installation of a system in other branches of the company that, in addition to the above described advantages, will provide them a common information space on a trade inventory in the single interface. It, in turn, will allow to reduce the level of a trade inventory in warehouses and also quantity of illiquid goods in one warehouse, by its distribution by other branches and sales.
