"E.ON Russia" implements management tools IT assets

On July 1, 2014 the Softline company announced implementation of the automated control system for the software in E.ON Russia.

Project Tasks

"E.ON Russia" showing interest in technologies of management of program assets (SAM), came to need to optimize structures of the used software solutions. Requirement - to reveal, exclude legal risks and also to minimize costs for software became the basis for this purpose. These factors promoted the beginning of the project on implementation of methodology of SAM more than two years ago.

As the partner for project implementation the Softline company is selected.

Project Progress

In 2014 the project gained further development. To provide compliance of ISO 19770, to optimize processes and to increase the level of a maturity of SAM, the company management made the decision on further development of this methodology.

Work planning on the project matched the offer of Microsoft on carrying out the SAM Services program with participation of certified partners. She assumes carrying out a full stroke of procedures for improvement of quality of use of the software of Microsoft and increase in license purity.

At the first stage of the project implementation and migration on a new management tool IT assets to which rather high requirements were imposed are carried out.

According to the results of the analysis of possible solutions the choice fell on the software of FlexNet. Information is postponed and updated.

At the second stage of formation of the regulating documentation specialists of Softline held consultations, an interview with responsibles of the company. Developed the packet of the regulating documentation describing processes of management of the software for all lifecycle of software. These processes completely conform to requirements of ISO - 19770.

Further specialists of Softline performed accomplishment of actions for the SAM Services programs which included assessment of core competencies on processes of SAM, verification of use of the software of Microsoft and formation of plans of its licensing.

Involvement of new structural divisions of the company and accounting of all IT-assets belonging to them became the final stage. As a result practically all workstations, servers and notebooks appeared under control of FlexNet.

Project Results

Implementation of SAM minimized legal and the business risks accompanying use of the illegal software in the company created conditions for more effective use of the available assets. As a result the customer had an opportunity of accounting and use of all advantages of new schemes of licensing in the automatic mode, provided access to more functional means of analytics of use of software, performed the maximum covering of IT assets with a specialized software and also provided reduction of the regulating documentation to compliance to the ISO standards with accounting acting corporate the politician.
