EVRAZ completed system implementation of management of technical expertize of the enterprise

On September 8, 2016 the Terralink company announced system implementation of collecting, preserving and multiplication of technical expertize on the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 platform in group EVRAZ.

Project Tasks

EVRAZ manages the different plants worldwide and on each of them there are technology processes, the local engineers having unique examination work. At some plants processes which cannot be used at other enterprises are used, processes, so-called "best practice" work, they can be scaled. However, engineers had no opportunity to exchange knowledge of these processes. There was no single system of qualification of engineers, it was unclear - who here the expert and on what basis.

Project Results

With implementation of technology on the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 platform, the EVRAZ company had a number of opportunities:

1. systematic identification of key experts among employees in separate processes or the equipment and # creation of expert community in the company.
2. creation of uniform space of interaction of expert community of the company for accumulation of competences, knowledge sharing and their accumulation.
3. deduction of critical technical and technology know-how.
4. increase in operational efficiency of technology processes and the equipment using benchmarking, technical audit, identification of bottlenecks of processes, replication of the best practice.
5. ensuring management with information for decision making.

EVRAZBUK – project participants using which production processes and the equipment, automated scoring of personnel are documented so called a system. A system solves one of the tasks facing the company – identification of significant processes and preserving of knowledge of them for further use.

For certification of personnel, assessment of expert knowledge, identifications of critical steps in technology process were applied difficult routes using Nintex Workflow technology. A system is initially created with a scaling option the customer for connection of new divisions.

In EVRAZ company the project manual Global Engineering Expertise (GEE) which defined a set of means and techniques for deduction and development of engineering examination and formed the basis of functional requirements to a system is developed.

A system consists of three modules:

• personnel,
• technology processes,
• equipment.

People

The module "People" assumes automated scoring of engineering personnel to reveal at the different plants of experts in certain steps of production process. Knowledge which experts have are described. A system will provide formation of expert community at the expense of step-by-step algorithm:

• identification of the expert in the plant which makes the production process chart which is displayed in a system in Microsoft Visio. Depending on differentiations of access rights it is visible to different people and at the different plants
• determination of steps of a production process. On each step of production experts who are appointed responsible for the description of this stage which create the scheme of the equipment on each step are defined and also reveal bottlenecks on each section of production
• personel assessment using certification forms where are estimated experience, quantity of occupational accidents and other characteristics.

On the basis of this information in a system a mark is automatically given and categories – the expert, the successor or the engineer on this step of process are appropriated. Results of estimation treat in personal cards of employees

Production processes

The description of production of each plant begins with creation of the production process chart in which several workshops are involved. Within process there are certain steps which are estimated at this stage. After the carried-out personel assessment where experts and engineers were identified, the questionnaire for assessment of that step of process for which they are responsible is sent them.

Based on answers criticality and uniqueness of each step of process for the specific enterprise or all holding EVRAZ is automatically determined. On the scheme of process the critical step is automatically selected in color. It is visible to users of a system and the management what of steps are critical and what are not present.

Technology and economic information on production process steps is stored in a system. It is systematized therefore it is easy to find and use it in work.

Equipment

At each stage of production process the equipment which can be both unique, and standardized is used. Control over use of the equipment is also important to understand what equipment is unique and can be used only for certain transactions and what can be it is moved to other workshops or the plants.

Interface and functionality

The solution is developed proceeding from needs of the customer and also integrated with a corporate portal of EVRAZ.

It allowed to enter a system in the interface existing usual to the user. Within the project the design of the portal is developed.
