Upgrade of the software solution of a corporate portal is carried out to Eldorado

The Eldorado company books communication audit for identification of the current level of knowledge of the employees of the development strategy and tactics of business during which efficiency evaluation of communication links is performed. Goal

At the end of 2010 the company management makes the decision on creation of a new corporate portal based on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and transfer of a part of data on it. From Eldorado the working group consisted of three people – the head on internal communications, the art director and the IT specialist.

Solution

Specialists of Softline developed the plan of migration of the existing portal, designed a physical architecture, performed works on deployment and the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 setup. After that the development team and analysts started labor-intensive step-by-step process of transfer of the existing databases, settings and configurations on a new farm. For ensuring correct functioning in the environment of SharePoint 2010 earlier developed components – web parts, event handlers, actions according to the schedule were postponed and adapted.

The structure of the portal was developed so that the user at run on the homepage of the portal could see the updates covering everything aspects of corporate life at once, and at run in each thematic block – a complete selection of the corresponding news.
