The Eldorado network implements the solution of control automation by distribution centers

In the largest Russian retail network of home appliances and electronics "Eldorado" the project on implementing solution smartEWM based on software is complete SAP SCM EWM.

Tasks

Desire of the company to increase efficiency of the used management system and to lower costs became an implementing solution project objective for management of distribution centers in Eldorado. Besides, the company expected to reduce duration of implementation of completions of the WMS system.

The SAP product SCM EWM 7.01 was selected from an analysis result of the possible systems. As the partner in the project the Ciber company is defined.

Solution

"SAP implementation of SCM EWM in warehouses in 2012 allowed to construct a qualitative basis for further development of logistics, – Igor Chebunin, the vice president for logistics of Eldorado company noted. – We reached new level scalabilities, transparency and integrity of the solution. Integration with other SAP products which are actively used in our company became main advantage of smartEWM based on SAP. A system supports a broad set of funktsionalnost for automation of warehouses of different scale that is especially relevant for the retailer with such developed regional network, as at Eldorado. Besides, our IT specialists had an opportunity to execute completions by own forces. The important role was played also by adequate implementation cost. Now, seeing project deliverables, we can tell that the choice for benefit of smartEWM and Ciberokazalsya successful: implementation was carried out by a team of experienced consultants to a short time and is very successful".

The project on implementation of smartEWM in the distribution warehouse center of Eldorado in Kazan started in November, 2011 and came to the end in the middle of March, 2012. Thus, a system in operation was launched rapidly – 5.5 months whereas 9 months are considered as the standard term of implementation of such system, and on expert evaluations on implementation not less than 7 months had to leave.

As a result of implementation reaching target values on warehouse processing, operational performance and time of processing of vehicles was performed in only 6 weeks since launch in operation. According to the experts Eldorado, after the adaptation period performance measures exceed target values for 7%.
