In October 2023, the first electric buses were delivered to the Volgograd Region. The starting batch of vehicles manufactured by KamAZ includes 21 vehicles.
Earlier in 2023, MUP Metroelektrotrans launched a tender for the purchase of electric buses and charging stations for them in the amount of 960 million rubles. Financing is a federal subsidy under the state program "Development of the transport system," the national project "Safe quality roads."
From October 19, 2023, 10 electric buses began working in Volgograd on the route from Topolevaya Street, Kirovsky District, to the Shoe Factory stop in the Sovetsky District. As the head of the Volgograd Department of Urban Economy Sergey Komlev explained, in the future, test operation and debugging of all systems, internship of drivers will be carried out, and charging stations for electric buses will be installed, which will allow bringing innovative transport to other routes.
The next 11 electric buses will soon also enter the line - from the beginning of December the route will fully operate already within the borders of st. Topolevaya Kirovsky district - railway station of the Central district, - he told reporters. |
Electric buses purchased by Volgograd are designed to carry more than 80 passengers at the same time. They are equipped with modern control systems, video surveillance cameras, USB charging, information screens and validators. Electric buses do not have steps at the entrance to the cabin, and thanks to the "knitting" system, the vehicle leans towards the door, which creates a minimum slope and makes landing in the cabin more convenient for passengers, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation.
