The FPS of Russia equips transport with GLONASS system modules

"NIS GLONASS" implements the project of delivery of navigation systems for FPS of Russia.

About the Project

The federal network operator of NIS GLONASS will deliver navigation systems for the Federal Penitentiary Service (FPS of Russia).

The contract assumes creation of the management information system (MIS) of control of vehicles of penal correction system using GLONASS signals.

Objectives

IUS is intended for ensuring operational management of processes of transportation, timely informing on emergence of emergency situations with vehicles, for decision making at assessment of threats and their elimination.

Solution

Sets of navigation and information aircraft equipment of vehicles and the telematic server for processing and routing of the arriving information on location and alarms are a part of IUS.

The separate direction of a system - data preparation for efficiency analysis of activities of divisions of territorial authorities of FPS of Russia for operation of transport and development of solutions on its improvement, minimization of potential risks and expense reduction on operation of vehicle fleet.

Execution

For project implementation the equipment and the software of M2M Telematics group is used.

Terms and cost

The equipment should be supplied till December 10, 2010. Contract amount is more than 24.27 million rubles.

2014: Development of the project of use of GLONASS

On February 3, 2014 the NIS company announced a victory in an auction on the right of the conclusion of the government contract with the Federal Penitentiary Service (FPS) of the Russian Federation on delivery of a navigation aircraft equipment of motor transport.

According to terms of the contract, the company will set 1700 units of the GLONASS equipment in vehicle fleets of territorial authorities of FSIN of the Russian Federation.

Till August 31, 2014 it is necessary to equip with the navigation and coherent equipment departments of FPS in 58 cities of the Central, Northwest, Southern, North Caucasian, Volga, Ural federal districts. The purpose of supply of equipment - expansion of infrastructure and development of the existing control system of vehicles of FPS.

Implementation of the equipment of GLONASS in activity of penal correction system is intended to increase performance excellence of criminal sanctions.

Use of navigation equipment in activity of FPS is proved by the Order of the Federal Penitentiary Service of 1/21/2013 No. 23 "About creation of an information system of control of vehicles of penal correction system using the equipment of satellite navigation of GLONASS".
