Softline implemented the first SAM project on personal data protection in Eastern Europe

On July 24, 2019 the Softline company reported that it within the first European project analyzed effective management of IT resources of Fashion Company. According to the results of SAM assessment the client received recommendations about the reduction of IT infrastructure in compliance of GDPR regulating an order of personal data processing of citizens of the EU.

According to the company, for July, 2019 being one of leaders of retail in Serbia, Fashion Company processes personal data of residents of the EU. The regulations of GDPR existing in the territory of the European Union toughened requirements to processing of personal information of citizens. For non-compliance with the legislation on the company the penalty in the amount of 20 million euros or 4% of an annual turnover is imposed.

For the analysis of a current status of IT infrastructure of business and reduction of activity of the company in compliance with requirements of the law Fashion Company addressed the permanent partner – Softline.

The client having wide network of representations was faced by a task to receive complete expert evaluation of business from positions of effective use of program assets and also to reduce risks of cyber security.

In the project progress specialists of Softline carried out the analysis of the current mechanisms of software management and estimated the level of a maturity of processing of personal data at Fashion Company. For this purpose experts performed inventory 200+ of the user PC and 20+ of servers and also interviewing of employees and testing of settings of information security of the customer. Softline was succeeded to reduce the cost of the SAM project due to use of effective internal tools of the automated analytics and specialized utilities.

According to the results of SAM examination Softline created for the client the code of technical recommendations for transformation of business according to regulations of the European legislation. On the basis of this analytical conclusion the Fashion Company will be able to develop competent license strategy and to implement the principles of management of IT resources answering to the last world practices.

The recommendations of Softline will help the client to avoid financial, legal and reputational risks and also to increase resistance of an information security system to external threats.

Thanks to a command of Softline we managed to obtain the comprehensive information about an IT landscape of the company. The detailed and timely analysis allowed to reveal the hidden problems and to prevent the negative effects integrated to them.
