FCS of Russia is ready to transit of sanctions goods through the territory of Russia

2020: GLONASS system implementation

FCS of Russia announced on July 15, 2020 readiness for transit of sanctions goods through the territory of Russia.

Full-scale application of a system of tracking of cargo transportation using navigation seals on the basis of GLONASS begins in Russia since July 15, 2020. This technology will allow customs authorities to provide control of transit of sanctions goods which are transported through the territory of the country automobile and by rail.

For movement of sanctions products the Government of the Russian Federation defined 20 automobile and 10 railway checkpoints located in places of intersection of frontier in which navigation seals will be imposed and be removed. In 18 such points application of navigation seals will be controlled by customs authorities.

Information on a status of transportation of sanctions goods coming from navigation seals to the system of tracking will be available to officials of FCS of Russia and Rostransnadzor in the mode approximate to real time.

For FCS of Russia the technology of tracking guarantees transparency of transportation as we see all information on movement and safety of goods. Together with Ministry of Transport, the operator and cargo carriers we carried out large-scale pilot projects and are completely ready to control transit of sanctions goods.
