More than half a million people received the status self-employed on biometrics of the person with the help of the VisionLabs platform

2020: Registration more than 500 thousand self-employed in mobile application "My tax" by means of biometrics of the person

On October 7, 2020 it became known that more than 500 thousand self-employed were registered in mobile application "My tax" by means of biometrics of the person. Function is implemented on the basis of the Digital ID platform of VisionLabs company. In the period of a pandemic remote service helped Russians to be registered in quality of the taxpayer without coming out the house. According to the results of the first half of the year 2020 the number of self-employed citizens in Russia grew up twice.

As it was explained, the My Tax application allows self-employed to interact far off with tax authorities and to pay taxes without accounting. Cooperation of VisionLabs and FTS began in 2018, and from a pilot case with registration on biometrics of the person turned into the project of national scale. For October, 2020 he acts in 79 regions, daily joins it on 3.5 thousand people.

For remote registration in "My tax" there is enough passport. The user scans the document in the application, and a system automatically reads out the statements given for filling. Then a selfie is taken, VisionLabs Digital ID will automatically recognize the person in a frame and for fractions of a second compares it to the photo in the passport. If they match, then the user completes registration. At the same time process of verification happens on the device, without sending personal data to the third-party server.

In attempt to use someone else's image, a system signals about an error. Besides, for protection against swindlers in the application the Liveness technology which is also developed by VisionLabs is used. It checks whether this person in front of the camera, and excludes use of the printed photo or video from the screen of other device instead of a selfie.

The Digital ID platform – the product VisionLabs for implementation of remote customer service. The solution is relevant for state bodies, banks, insurance companies, the organizations of health care. It helps to avoid costs for opening of branches, reduces risk of theft of personal data, and, above all provides access to services from any place in the world.

The experiment purpose on introduction of tax regime for self-employed – to help taxpayers to legalize the income on rather comfortable conditions. In August, 2020 VisionLabs and the Federal Tax Service signed the usage contract of biometric products for further development of service. Contract amount was about 55 million rubles.
