EMERCOM of Russia on the fourth attempt signed a contract for the maintenance of firewalls

In early October 2024, it became known that the Russian Emergencies Ministry signed a contract as part of the purchase of non-exclusive (user) licensing rights to provide technical support for UserGate firewall F8000 with certificates from the FSTEC of Russia. It was possible to decide on the contractor only on the fourth attempt.

The corresponding tender was first announced on May 8, 2024 with an initial price of 8,958,400 rubles. The customer was the Federal State Institution "Central Base of Measuring Equipment of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters." Then similar proposals were published on May 20 and 28, 2024. For the fourth time, the tender was announced on June 17, 2024 with an initial price of 8,782,919 rubles.

It is noted that the electronic auction did not take place due to a lack of participants. Only one company, Bastion LLC, sent an application for participation in the tender, with which a contract was concluded as a result.

In accordance with the terms of reference, the executor provides non-exclusive (user) license rights to provide technical support for firewall tools in the amount of two pieces, which must provide a Security Updates subscription for a period of eight months for two UserGate clusters F8000 without limiting the number of users. The supplied license rights shall be fully compatible with the UserGate F8000 tools available and operating in the EMERCOM of Russia. The intrusion detection and prevention system and L7 databases (application signatures) must be automatically or manually updated within one year of license activation[1]
