On October 4, 2021, it became known about Gazprom's decision to create an IT news analysis system for risk assessment of banks. The state corporation announced a corresponding tender, within the framework of which it is ready to pay up to 22.5 million rubles.
The winner of the competition will develop an information and analytical system for the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the financial stability of Russian and foreign credit organizations. According to the results of the project, Gazprom's enterprises will receive a new analytical tool for evaluating banks.
The system will have to work on the basis of analysis of information flows of the Internet, news resources (at least 10 thousand different news sources) and a global analytical database in Russian and English. It will give emergency signals to monitored banks in the event of significant negative events (news on certain topics, including those related to operational risk situations or criminal cases).
At the same time, the system should provide on a daily basis the values of the default probability of the bank under consideration on horizons from 1 month to 39 years in advance based on at least three methodologically different models.
Among other things, it is planned to use a combination of special methods of machine learning and statistical analysis, taking into account the possible lag and indirect nature of the impact of financial reporting, market data and events related to counterparties on their reliability. In addition, it is planned to create an algorithm for the intelligent search for bank names (including ensuring the normalization of organization names in the input text stream) in news feeds in English and Russian.[1]
