From July 1, 2020, the marking of shoes in Russia has become mandatory, and from January 1, 2021, the production, import, wholesale and retail sale of clothes without unique identification codes is prohibited in the country. GEOX did not postpone the modernization of processes and from October 2019 began to reformat its work under these rules.

• Introduction of changes prescribed at the legislative level. As part of these works, a proprietary system for printing DataMatrix codes was developed, which additionally reflects a complete Russian-language description of goods.
• Connection to electronic document management operator . When shipping and receiving marked goods, the seller and the supplier must use universal transfer documents (UDA).
• Development and improvement of software for comfortable handling of marked goods. The company uses an "intermediate" program that manages product codes. As of February 2021, the functionality is supplemented by information on shipments and returns of shoes and clothes.

As part of the marking process, the adaptation of WMS and ERP (warehouse and accounting systems) was required:

GEOX programs were finalized for piece accounting of products. Initially, they focused on portioned registration. Marking implies a unique serial number on each item.

ERP was supplemented with tables with databases on marking codes (CM) and their status.

The warehouse management system has been adapted. This is an important development for GEOX, which allowed you to receive information about the status of the product at the time of shipment. The cash register software now requests the marking code, and the CM order occurs automatically.

A special item is worth noting the work with EDO. We needed to introduce document formats according to the orders of the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 820 and No. 189. This is quite difficult, since we use our ERP system, in which there is no EDO functionality. The Synerdocs service specialists helped us to solve the problem. They provided a description and examples based on our own documents. Only thanks to this did we manage to complete the implementation by the time the mandatory marking came into force.
