Rostelecom will take part in development of strategy of digital transformation of Kamchatka

2019: Agreement signature for the purpose of development of digital infrastructure of Kamchatka

On September 4, 2019 PJSC Rostelecom reported that together with the government of Kamchatka Krai signed the agreement on joint activity in the field of development of digital infrastructure in the territory of Kamchatka Krai.

Within the agreement Rostelecom intends to promote development of the national program "Digital Economy of Russia" on Kamchatka, to participate in development of strategy of digital transformation of the region and to continue a project work of elimination of digital inequality. The government of Kamchatka Krai intends to assist the company in data collection, necessary for project implementation of development of digital infrastructure, to exchange necessary data and to inform on joint financing opportunities.

For our peninsula the issue of development of communication always was and remains extremely important. We pay special attention to elimination of digital inequality: if in the cities and large settlements in the south of Kamchatka key problems are solved, then in northern areas and small settlements a lot of work is necessary still very much. I will note that with the assistance of Rostelecom company in 2019-2020 the project constructions fiber optic line communications on section 'Ust-Bolsheretsk – Ozernovsky' will be implemented. And until the end of 2021 on Kamchatka 20 wireless access points in internet in the localities which are not connected to trunk communication channels are going to organize.
