Irkutsk region switched to the domestic postal system with the help of Greenatom Simple Solutions

Specialists of the competence center for import substitution of Greenatom Simple Solutions JSC within the framework of the state contract with OGAU Information and Technical Center of the Irkutsk Region implemented the transfer of the IOGV postal system of the Irkutsk region from the imported Microsoft Exchange product to the Russian CommuniGate Pro system. This was announced by Greenatom on May 13, 2022.

As part of the project, Greenatom Simple Solutions specialists completed a set of measures that included the supply of software licenses, the deployment of a cluster configuration and testing of the postal system, as well as the migration of data from the current customer solution to the Russian postal system. The data of 3,500 e-mail users was migrated while retaining mailing groups, basic settings, and policies. This made it possible to completely preserve the usual settings and reduced the work of administrators during the further operation of the system.

The government of the Irkutsk region paid great attention to the training of users and administrators for whom a training video course was developed and support for working with the system was organized.

As a result, the Government of the Irkutsk Region together with JSC Greenatom Simple Solutions completed the key tasks of the project - the modernization of the corporate postal system, ensuring its fault tolerance and increasing the level of information security.

Irkutsk region consistently implements an import substitution strategy. We began by selecting and testing domestic products from the Unified Register of Russian Programs and creating a permanent test laboratory in the region for the transition to domestic software. Based on the results of our work, we have identified a solution for the translation of the postal system. The main requirements for the system were the high level of information security and technological maturity of the product and developer, "said Igor Rymorenko, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Irkutsk Region.

When choosing a postal platform, the customer was guided by functional characteristics that should ensure the full operation of users in the system, as well as the requirements for system reliability: protection of information from unauthorized access, secure authentication, data encryption and other criteria.
