The government of the Republic of Bashkortostan develops a segment of multiservice network in the region

The IT company executed the project on information security support of data transmission for support of rendering electronic state services and effective interdepartmental interaction of public authorities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the company reported on April 16, 2013.

Tasks

Implementation of electronic document management systems and interdepartmental interaction caused requirements to basic IT infrastructure of authorities of the republic. One of requirements - creation of the protected segment of a multiservice data network. The contractor of the project, based on open auction, selects IT company.

Solution

The guide of the Agency to information technologies of the Republic of Bashkortostan made the decision to expand a segment of the multiservice data network built in 2009-2010 based on network equipment of Cisco.

The created network segment contains:

• The subsystem of transfer of diverse data including active network equipment of a node of access and the channel-forming equipment
• The subsystem of information security providing confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data transferred on multiservice network
• The subsystem of monitoring and management intended for timely detection and fault recovery of multiservice network, observation of a status of its parameters in real time, managements of hardware and program configurations of active network equipment, by access to the equipment and also collecting of statistics and reports generation

Result

Project implementation recreates the segment of multiservice network including the access nodes put into operation and also the system of firewalling for restriction of undesirable traffic according to the current legislation and the regulating documentation. In total 107 objects located in 62 areas of the republic are connected to the protected segment of multiservice network. In the created network more than 1500 users work with a possibility of its operation in mode 24х7.

Besides, the IT company organized the centralized monitoring of operability of telecommunication infrastructure, subsystems of information security, events of security and centralized operation by all subsystems and the equipment.

On the basis of the created solution the subsystem of cryptographic information protection in data transmission channels at information exchange between authorities of Bashkortostan using the encryption algorithms certified in the Russian Federation is implemented. At the same time the subsystem of cryptographic information protection provides use of certificates of Certification center of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
