Upgrade of a processing center of Multikarta company is complete

The Multikarta company completed upgrade of a processing center, the participant in the project - IBM company. The technology of implementation is IBM Live Partition Mobility. Announced the press services of the companies the final of the project on October 16, 2012.

Expanding a portfolio of the provided services and the number of users of a processing center, in 2010 the Multikarta company came to the decision on upgrade of the operating center on purpose - to increase performance and fault tolerance of a system. Users of a processing center are more than 50 Russian and foreign banks.

Solution

In the center of customer company the IBM Live Partition Mobility technology using which the company hopes to exclude technical idle times is implemented, to optimize use of resources of a system and to keep balance at distribution of the major workloads.

The architecture of a processing center is constructed on the basis of solutions of IBM: as the computing platform the IBM Power 570 servers with the built-in subsystem of virtualization of IBM PowerVM are used. The backup system is implemented based on the IBM System X 3550M2 servers and tape libraries IBM TS3310.

Multikart as the provider of processing services, aims to minimize risks of the customers. When the need for performance improvement of the operating complex was realized, there was a task — to define what technologies will help us, having increased performance measures, to provide the continuity of provision of services and to exclude a system stop even in case of accomplishment of scheduled works. The solution of IBM including Live Partition Mobility technology allowed us to achieve this goal. Moreover, we expect, at least, the double growth of performance measures till 2014 without additional upgrade of a system", - Mikhail Raynov, the head of department of computing systems and telecommunications of Multikarta company noted.

According to Andrey Filatov, the Head of Department of hardware of IBM in Russia and the CIS, "... expansion in the market of processing services demands from the company of considerable investments into performance of the systems servicing processing. At the same time it is important to consider that through some time, owing to the high dynamics of growth of business inherent to the financial sector, the existing capacities should be increased. Therefore the scalability of the solution and high extent of virtualization, at the compulsory provision of business continuity, are key characteristics when choosing a hardware complex".
