Given the long (over 25 years) running SAP and many unique internal developments, the transition project is technologically complex, CNews reports. To minimize risks, a two-way system integration approach was chosen, which ensured the integrity of accounting system data and business process continuity. The development of the target architecture and the formation of working groups in functional areas made it possible to begin phased implementation.

Rinat Gimranov, head of the information technology department of Surgutneftegas, said that accounting of purchased services and accounting for personal protective equipment were chosen as pilot directions. Their successful transfer to Global ERP in 2024 confirmed the platform's performance in a large oil and gas company. Rinat Gimranov noted that the necessary system settings were performed within the framework of the pilots, internal specialists were trained and interaction with the developer and integrators was built.

Since January 2025, fixed asset accounting and depreciation calculation have been completely transferred to the domestic platform. In parallel, during 2025, the pilot operation of the Global ERP system in the fields of finance, treasury, legal support and capital construction began. Rinat Gimranov added that the 2026 plan includes the productive launch of a system for material accounting and procurement planning.[1]
