Project date: 2025/10

Metrovagonmash (part of Transmashholding) continues to robotize production processes in order to improve accuracy and efficiency. The company, in particular, uses a giant industrial welding robot, the features of which TAdviser got acquainted with at the end of October 2025.

The machine is designed for welding of units such as pivot and center beams of the car. The complex includes cantilever rotary cranes and modern welding sources with a remote monitoring system. Thanks to the use of industrial robotic manipulators, the high and stable quality of welding connections is ensured. In particular, the correct geometry of the seams is maintained; in addition, there are no residual deformations of welded products. Judging by the video, the company uses welding robot. Fronius

The introduction of the robotic system made it possible to increase the welding speed by at least 50% compared to the manual method. The total capacity of the complex is up to three products per work shift. The robot not only allows you to speed up production and improve its quality, but also makes it possible to design more complex designs. In this case, the complex is controlled by one operator.

Metrovagonmash also uses other robotic systems. These are robotic technological complexes for bending, welding sides and roof, as well as two laser welding complexes. For example, two robotic systems using Fanuc manipulators are installed in the workshop for assembling and welding bodies: they are used for automated welding of the body side. At the same time, the tilter is used to simplify the welding process of the frame: first it is assembled on a slipway, welded on one side, then turned over and welded on the other side.[1]
