2018: Upgrade of a production ERP system
On November 27, 2018 the Frontstep company announced upgrade of a production ERP system of JSC PROTON-ELECTROTEX. Within the project on transition to the next version of ERP CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine), several specific Enterprise resource planning functions necessary for exact planning in the conditions of the mixed production – serial and job order were implemented.
Core activity of JSC PROTON-ELECTROTEX is development, production and sale of power semiconductor devices and assemblies on their basis. For November, 2018 at the enterprise more than 250,000 units of finished goods a year are produced, there is production of products of the general applicability (for example, silicon crystals) under the forecast, assembly of finished goods "under the order". An important role is played by high-quality demand forecasting as production duration considerably exceeds a sales cycle. Thus, there is an opportunity to make devices by parameters, to make specialized hardwired connections, to manufacture devices with a unique set of characteristics according to specific consumer requirements with the minimum costs, stocks and level of work in progress.
The aspiration of company management to make quantum leap in enterprise management due to use of functionality of the version Infor CloudSuite of Industrial 9 (SyteLine) in which the functionality necessary for the enterprises with discrete type of production gained further development became premises to start the project on updating of the version of the ERP system. Along with updating of the version of the ERP system of CloudSuite Industrial 9 (SyteLine), team of experts Frontstep the software configurations reflecting features of planning and production of JSC PROTON-ELECTROTEX were made.
Examples of implementation:
- Calculation of probability of product sales for group of products. For the correct planning of purchased products at assembly "under the order", it is necessary to calculate the probability of implementation of specific items and, thus, it is correct to plan purchased products for assembly of finished goods. Calculation of probability for statistical data of the shipped products for the determined period or for the ordered products for the same period is performed.
- Planned cost calculation taking into account losses. In discrete production there is a certain wastage rate on each repartition (manufacturing stage) therefore it is important to calculate the planned cost of a semi-finished product and all product on all nesting levels taking into account planned losses and percent of an exit of suitable.
- Absorption of forecasts for group of products by production of a good selection of products. Forecasts serve in planning process for assessment of the future demand, and gradually, eventually, this assessment is filled with the actual orders. So the forecast is absorbed by the actual demand.
- "Absorption" of the forecast for group at the order of the specific item entering into this group of products is performed. Thus, the forecast for finished goods "is absorbed" by the taken orders. As assembly is performed only under the customer order, forecasts automatically are removed in a definite time before an assembly time (time of "advancing" by the taken order is considered).
- The analysis of security of requirements shows how selected order, a task for production, or the project is provided with materials and DSE. The analysis is made based on planning. The algorithm of calculation analyzes the existing remaining balance of Inventories expected receipt from Production, Supplier orders.
- Planning of the purchased sets. At requirement emergence, on a basic element of a set in ERP Infor CloudSuite Industrial 9 (SyteLine) requirement on the purchased set forms and also the planned receipt on a warehouse of other elements of a set forms. This functionality allows to plan correctly not only basic elements of a set, but also all other components. In case of requirement on auxiliary elements of a set, the need for purchases of this element less the expected receipts when dekitting forms. For distribution of cost of a set by elements when dekitting there is an opportunity to specify percent of distribution of cost on set elements.
As a result of integration a part of an end-to-end system of management were:
- CloudSuite Industrial 9 (SyteLine) – the main ERP – functionality;
- TsUP: Data Collection - provides automatic receipt of data in the ERP system, signals about the movement of materials and stocks through production resources, controls loading of capacities, regulation of labor power;
- 1C – formation of accounting and tax statements;
- Infor BI is the solution for the managerial and financial and economic analysis of activity of the enterprise.
