2019: Testing of the equipment of SITA Smart Path
The prime minister of Malaysia Tong Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad) tested the biometric equipment of a complex of SITA Smart Path for processing of a passenger traffic in the main terminal of the International airport of the city of Kuala Lumpur (KLIA). Reported about it in SITA company on August 25, 2019.
Global IT provider in the field of air SITA transport and Malaysia Airports company (the operator of KLIA) signed the Memorandum of understanding (MOU). It will allow the parties to use joint efforts for development of digital-innovations and their implementation in Malaysia Airports work.
As explained in SITA, the principle of work of technology of SITA Smart Path is based on recognition of front biometric data that helps to automate a way of the passenger from registration before landing. There is no more need to show documents at each stage of a trip: after registration the traveler needs to scan the person only. The technology can be easily integrated into the existing infrastructure of the airports and airlines, including into the standard systems of general use, booths of registration and a collar of self-service for safe pass and landing.
It is expected that the flow of air passengers of Malaysia in 2019 will grow by 4.9% in comparison with 2.5% last year. In 2018 the Malaysia Airports company started the program of transformation of culture of service "Happy guests, careful owners".
