2020: Implementation of an APCS on the TRIM-Mobile platform

NPP Spectec announced on September 8, 2020 project completion of implementation of the automated process control system of diagnostics of the equipment APCS of Yokogawa Electric. A system is implemented on the mobile platform "TRIM-Mobile".

The most labor-consuming part of work of the service engineers performing support of operation of the Yokogawa PCS includes exit diagnostics and preparation of the report. Collection of data on a condition of equipment on site (at the customer) was traditionally performed by manual filling the check sheets based on visual inspection and removal of indications from diagnostic utilities (check of communication lines and control stations, controllers, power supplies, etc.). Essential time was taken by processing of collected state-of-health data of the PCS. The group of analysts compared them to the values of technical parameters recommended to Yokogawa Electric revealed deviations and created the report with recommendations to the customer. This process was not automated and required considerable labor costs of staff of the Service center.

In this regard in the Service center "Iokogava Elektrik of the CIS" the implementation project of the automated process control system of diagnostics of the equipment Yokogawa PCS was initiated. Creation of a mobile automated workplace of the service engineer, with a possibility of collecting and data transmission on server at office of the company was the key requirement. The solution "TRIM-Mobile" of development of NPP Spectec – the software product of the class FSM (Field Service Management) which is a part EAM/ APM- the TRIM systems became a basis of a system.

Specialists of NPP Spectec converted on the system server the saved-up knowledge base in the form of the directory of types of the equipment (about 1500 units) with data on standard discrepancies, their reasons and influence, and recommendations about their elimination. Data collection is transferred to mobile application of "TRIM-CSMT" where not only the interface, the corresponding check sheets of check of the equipment is created, but also the automated import of data from diagnostic utilities with their automatic binding to object of check in the database is implemented. All this allowed to automate the procedure of diagnostics and report generation following the results due to automatic comparison of operational data with the diagnostic knowledge base.

In mobile application function of certification of the equipment of the customer which is performed using uniform qualifiers and reference books of standard works, and with automatic check of the created object on compliance to required parameters is implemented. In total with the fixed interface of functions of mobile application, it allowed to unify process of data collection and to provide its compliance to regulations.

As a result of system implementation the completeness and reliability of the collected data increased, the error probability and data loss which could arise at their collecting on the intermediate carrier and their manual transfer in the knowledge base decreased. Report generation time on diagnostics decreased from one week to several minutes.

There was an opportunity to analyze damageability of the PCS elements for the selected period, on the set equipment types, on selection of customers or other criteria, to create other analytics on the basis of the knowledge base.
