Irkutskkabel Ortems APS

The Unkomtekh group, holding of producers of cable and conduction products of Russia and the CIS, and AND Project company (file) completed the joint project of system implementation of operational production planning Ortems APS at the Irkutskkabel plant.

The need for implementation of technology of the optimized planning was caused by an external environment of the cable market with the high competition by separate types of products, seasonal fluctuations and deficit of raw materials and also the internal factors of the enterprise including such features as the wide range of products (more than 5000 easily soiled cable sizes), the three-shift working schedule, more than 100 items of equipment, frequent postponement of execution of orders. In these conditions strategically important tasks of company management considered calculation of realistic completion dates of orders, finding of balance between maximizing loading of the equipment and increase in shipment of orders "just in time", ensuring transparency of a production process.

Using an APS system at the plant operational production planning during which the plan for 6-8 weeks including 1000 client orders is under construction is performed. New orders are flexibly built in the current production process, at the same time minute recalculation and optimization of the plan taking into account multiple criteria of optimization is made. On the basis of the planned orders replaceable tasks to masters and workers prepare that became one of basic elements of the system of motivation of personnel unrolled at the enterprise.

Within the project the specialized solution based on Ortems – the interface of aggregation of production orders providing formation of orders of optimal length, minimization of waste in the form of malomer and reduction of readjustments was developed. Data exchange with the ERP system existing at the plant is implemented on the basis of Ortems of the module of integration Visual Interface Configurator which is included in the package.

According to the customer, as a result of creation of a system of operational planning of production the percent of the orders shipped in time grew by 15%. The project allowed to construct a transparent planning framework, to formalize processes of drawing up production schedules, to increase quality of the normative reference information and to improve interaction of departments of planning and production.
