St. Petersburg; Financial services, investments and audit

Product: Gazinformservice: Jatoba DBMS

Project date: 2024/09

The company Gazprom Invest in September 2024 completed the transfer of the system electronic document management () EDMS to the domestic platform using its own, database management systems (DBMS) Jatoba abandoning the use of products and. VMware The Microsoft move aims to improve the resiliency and performance of the company's infrastructure.

According to Cnews, the project was launched in 2021 and included a complete modernization of the EDMS infrastructure. Initially, the system functioned on the basis of the Directum RX import-dependent platform. However, over time, limitations in performance and fault tolerance were revealed, which led to a revision of the technical architecture of the system. Previously, part of the infrastructure used foreign products such as VMware and Microsoft, which did not correspond to the exchange rate for import substitution.

Gazprom Invest switched to domestic solutions instead of VMware and Microsoft

The main stage of modernization was the use of the domestic Jatoba DBMS. This system made it possible to create a cluster infrastructure, which significantly increased the reliability and scalability of EDMS. At the same time, the Jadog module was used, which provided automatic management of system nodes in emergency situations and restoration of data backups in a consistent form. An important advantage of Jatoba DBMS is its high degree of information protection, including data protection even from system administrators.

The project was implemented with the participation of the UTs GIS company, which was responsible for the complete migration of all components of the EDMS to the domestic platform. During the implementation, a cluster of servers based on the zVirt virtualization system was created, and load balancers were introduced to provide flexible system performance management.

According to Sergey Trenin, Chief information officer of Gazprom Invest, the modernization results made it possible to significantly improve the performance and resiliency indicators of the EDMS. The use of domestic solutions ensured the compliance of the system with import substitution requirements, and also improved the operational characteristics of the infrastructure.[1]
