KDL moved the laboratory information system to Croc DPC network

On September 6, 2018 it became known that the network of kliniko-diagnostic laboratories KDL moved to network DPC CROC of another virtual data center the key business application — the laboratory information system (LIS). A project objective — ensuring permanent availability of a PIM, and, therefore, reliable storages and fast processing of analysis results on which timely setting to patients of diagnoses often depends. Migration is carried out by CROC to most short time and is actually imperceptible for the customer's clients. The customer receives computing resources, combining model of lease of the equipment (HaaS) and clouds CROC.

The management of network of KDL laboratories made the decision to migrate a PIM in a cloud of CROC because of relocation of DPC of former provider as a result of which access to a system would be impossible within three days.

So long idle times in work are absolutely unacceptable for us because of specifics of business. The patient who transferred us biomaterial expects that the analysis will be made in strictly stipulated time. Therefore the accuracy, reliability and efficiency of accomplishment of tests — one of the most important competences of our laboratory. Therefore, and the data arriving from laboratories should be displayed in a system timely. The maximum term of migration approved by the customer was no more than 8 hours. According to the results of migration the customer transferred to a cloud of CROC and the corporate website also to provide its permanent availability as he is the main channel of customer appeals.

For a guarantee of reliable and continuous work of a business system of KDL of CROC at first unrolled infrastructure in the public cloud, and then created isolated virtual environment (a virtual private cloud) on the Hardware as a Service model (HaaS) with a full support of the application software. All infrastructure of the customer is placed in the failsafe DPC Compressor of the Tier 3 Gold Operational Sustainability level certified according to the international standards Uptime Institute. For providing requirements of the legislation in storage area of personal data the customer implemented the certified means of protecting. At the same time separate elements of the selected infrastructure of KDL are dubbed, and the customer receives service of cloud backup (BaaS) for data protection from loss in case of any failures.

By rules of cloud division of CROC any significant changes of terms of the contract should be approved with customers not less than in three months. It allows to exclude any force majeur situations. Besides, the regulations register planned updates and technical works which the cloud command also announces users beforehand.

Beginning of cooperation with CROC very successful. The command professionally fulfilled all procedures at migration, at a stage of technical support we also have nothing to carp. We expect long-term partnership — at least for three years. Taking into account our strategic plans on use of a cloud of CROC we review configurations of other our business applications and IT services.
