Passed Karelstroymekhanization to information modeling of buildings

On August 16, 2018 the PSS GRAYTEK company announced that the Karelian construction company "Karelstroymekhanization" (KSM) in three months created from scratch own department of design and also implemented BIM technology. Approbation of technology of information modeling took place within the real project – at design of an apartment apartment house in Petrozavodsk.

At the beginning of 2018 the KSM company made the decision on implementation of technology of information modeling at design stages and constructions that had to lead to decrease in cost value of construction and provide additional benefits. During tender the consultant for implementation of BIM technology and software provider was selected. The PSS GRAYTEK engineering and consulting company became the winner of competition.

Creation of the project department owning BIM competences of structure of the company became the first stage. Before design was performed by contractors. Specialists of PSS GRAYTEK provided training of designers of all sections in use of the software Autodesk Navisworks Autodesk Revit Autodesk Civil 3D, AGA CAD (Precast Concrete). Besides, the environment of the general project data on a basis was organized Autodesk BIM 360, regulations of information modeling and the Revit templates are developed.

Then the technology was applied on the real project of a five-floor apartment house of the residential complex Cozy in Petrozavodsk. Design was performed in three months.

During the project forces of specialists of "KSM" with consulting support of PSS GRAYTEK executed models and 2D - drawings of sections of AR, OVIK, KZh, EOM, the General plan of a pilot project in the environment of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D, coordination models in the environment of Autodesk Navisworks. Also templates and families in the environment of Autodesk Revit according to sections of AR, KZh, OVIK, EOM were developed. Using AGA CAD Precast Concrete shuttering models and drawings of wall panels and plates of overlapping were executed that allowed to define in a short time correctness of arrangement of all embedded parts in the project.
