On March 19, 2018 it became known that the Softline company helped Leader company, to define the most perspective directions of development of IT infrastructure taking into account business needs. By estimates of specialists, having passed into a cloud, the customer will save up to 75% of the IT budget.
The plan of strategic development of a part of IT infrastructure therefore its management made the decision on start of the SAM project during which the overview of the server hardware and the used software was made was required to develop Leader companies. The IT partner selected Softline which specialists have necessary competences on project implementation of Software Asset Management.
The SAM Server Optimization project covered 8 not affiliated legal entities of the customer. Specialists of Softline carried out the overview of 9 North and 258 workstations. It was recommended to Leader company to increase security of infrastructure using the solution Azure AD DC which will allow to integrate the central office and branches in the single managed system. Specialists noted that the company needs to take out of service outdated servers because of technological hazards – in their work failures are probable. The lack of vendor support and updates does IT resources vulnerable for cyberthreats.
Experts of Softline offered the customer several scenarios of optimization of a server framework taking into account the analysis of loads of the equipment, plans for its upgrade, the further business development strategy. Using virtualization it is possible to use more effectively computing resources, to increase availability of IT services due to reduction of time of idle times of systems and dynamic redistribution of loadings between servers. Consolidation of servers allows to lower infrastructure charges by 50-60%. Use of hybrid infrastructure based on Microsoft Azure and the solution Azure RemoteApp will allow the customer to provide quickly access to applications, user groups, without spending funds for new servers and expensive local infrastructure. As the Leader company had a need to archive data, specialists of Softline recommended to use a cloud service of Azure (backup & storage). It reduces purchase costs of disk arrays, drives and cartridges. Also the scenario of the customer on adding of power to the current infrastructure was analyzed.
As the optimal scheme of licensing of cloud products of Microsoft of Leader company recommended the agreement of SPLA. It will allow the company to pay only those licenses which are used for providing program services in current month, without initial expenses and to integrate not affiliated structures within one domain.
