2021: Introduction of an automatic alcohol vapour detection system

The company TALMER (included in X Holding""), system integrator and the supplier, IT Services on March 10, 2021 announced the completion of the implementation of the automatic alcohol vapor determination system (ASOPA) at the mills Metalloinvest ("," Lebedinsky GOK"," Mikhailovsky GOK named after A.V. Varicheva"," Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant named after A.A. Ugarova"").Ural Steel

The key task of implementing ASOPA was to automate the process of alcohol control among company employees and contracting organizations in order to prevent the passage of intoxicated persons to the territory of enterprises and reduce the risks of accidents.

To organize the alkoxy control process, breathalyser stands were installed in the entrance halls, turnstiles were equipped with security equipment to undergo video identification. To pass, the employee applies an access card to the MCDS reader, the video analytics system additionally identifies the employee, the breathalyzer analyzes for the presence of alcohol vapors in exhalation and transmits the obtained data to MCDS. Based on the comparison of data received from the breathalyzer and the rules of passage established for the employee, the system decides whether to allow or deny access. The algorithm for passing breathalysis was implemented both at the entrance and at the exit from the territory of enterprises.

ASOPA makes it possible to check the entire flow of passing people, conduct a breathalysis process at a high speed, measure the exact concentration of alcohol at the outlet and conveniently collect information for subsequent processing.

To create a single information space, the necessary information systems of the enterprise were integrated: the formation and coordination of applications for issuing passes, access control/control and breathtesting, recognition of persons and security television, a subsystem for monitoring measures taken, a web portal of the head, a situation center, personnel and contractual accounting systems.

The creation of applications for registration of passes and all stages of approval by responsible persons take place in automatic mode. When approving an application, the operator of the pass office photographs the employee and saves the picture in the employee's individual electronic card, then the system automatically generates a unique person identifier that confirms the ownership of the pass at the time of breathalysis. A copy-protected access card is then issued.

Control over the ownership of the pass to the employee of the enterprise/contracting organization is carried out using the face recognition system at the beginning and end of the working day. Also, video identification allows you to exclude the fact of passing breathalysis instead of another employee.

If alcohol intoxication is detected or an attempt to pass through someone else's pass, information is transmitted to the situation center, and then to the subsystem for monitoring and taking measures. For each incident, a notification is automatically sent to the responsible persons and a set of measures is formed in accordance with the type of violation.

For direct managers, the system automatically generates lists of employees who have passed or have not been identified by the access card, face recognition, and breathalysis results. Each month, employees of the enterprise are automatically reconciled the actual time worked with the timesheet, in case of rejection, the system notifies those responsible.

The implementation of the project made it possible to automate dozens of business processes related to checkpoints at enterprises, which made it possible to significantly optimize labor costs and reduce the speed of response to incidents.

Traditional methods of checking employees for alcohol intoxication have long lost their effectiveness, and the topic of minimizing industrial injuries and increasing labor discipline remains relevant for all companies. We were able to provide a solution that fully meets the requirements of the digital enterprise. The ASOPA software and technical complex allows not only to automate routine operations, but also to create additional effective checkpoints, "said Konstantin Fedoseev, project manager at TALMER.
