2022: Start of implementation of driver health monitoring system

Metalloinvest has launched a project to equip the fleets of Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhailovsky GOK named after A.V. Varichev with a driver monitoring system developed by specialists from JSA Group, which announced this on October 18, 2022.

By the end of 2022, it is planned to equip about 20 heavy trucks with the system. In cars 2023 - to cover the entire fleet of mining and processing plants of Metalloinvest.

The system includes a set of equipment with pre-installed neural network-based software that analyzes video streams and searches for unwanted scenarios of driver behavior.

For October 2022, the neural network is able to detect signs of fatigue or drowsiness of the driver, his distraction from the road, the use of a mobile phone while driving or smoking in the cab. In the future, the functionality of the system will develop.

To control the condition of the driver, two cameras are used: one is directed to the face, the second - determines his position in the seat, - explained Mikhail Dutov, director of the JSA Group digital solutions cluster. - Neural network analyzes the resulting "picture." If an undesirable scenario is detected, a warning signal is heard in the cockpit. Information about the event is stored on the server and in real time is sent to the dispatcher's console, which can decide to remove the driver from the flight.

Unlike the existing ready-made solutions on the market, our own development is optimized for interaction with the existing digital solutions in the Company, it initially contains opportunities for scaling and expanding functionality to meet the needs of the mills. The system is versatile and can be used on heavy vehicles, shift cars and buses.
