Customers: Mazor Robotics

Pharmaceutics, medicine, health care

Product: Mazor X (the robot for backbone operations)

Project date: 2020/12

In the middle of December, 2020 Medtronic reported that it integrated high-speed drills of Midas Rex into the robotic system of surgery of a backbone Mazor. Operational are very difficult premises, and we with impatience expect updating of Mazor robots surgeons which will allow us to increase predictability and accuracy of a broad spectrum of procedures, thereby having improved results of treatment, - doctor Eiman Shafa from the Center of surgery of a backbone Twin Cities told. He also noted that use of robots surgeons at transactions will increase awareness of surgical personnel on the plan of the procedure and will potentially reduce radiation exposure at roentgenoscopy.

According to Medtronic, high-speed drills of Midas Rex provide the enhanced accuracy of a trajectory, since creation of an initial opening. Special nozzles and tools should provide drilling accuracy with a speed up to 75,000 RPM. Besides, the new features of management of fusional implants implemented in the Mazor system will allow surgeons to visualize preparation of a disk and mezhtelovy placement of an implant during the procedure.
