"Ministry of Communications of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" switched to SPO

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was one of the first to switch to free software, abandoning Microsoft Office products. The department has been using the development of Nizhny Novgorod programmers for six months - the ONLYOFFICE universal cloud office.

The use of Microsoft Office and Google Docs products in the public sector is associated with certain risks, so in the spring of this year, the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications organized a competition among Russian developers to choose products that can replace popular Western counterparts. In the direction of "User Office Software," the highest expert ratings were received by the product of Nizhny Novgorod programmers - ONLYOFFICE.

Initially, the development was a cloud office designed for a private user. After the appearance of the server version, which allows you to deploy the "private cloud" in the corporate network and improvements to the functionality necessary for large organizations, it became possible to introduce the product in government agencies.

Now the regional ministry of communications not only successfully uses the product of Nizhny Novgorod programmers, but also recommends it to other units of the Nizhny Novgorod government. In addition, it is planned to introduce ONLYOFFICE in other authorities.
