The Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk region creates medical network of regional scale

On April 8, 2014 the press service of NVision Group announced end by specialists of the company integrator of the project on consolidation 120 of the treatment and prevention facilities (TPF) in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region a backbone network of data transmission.

Project Results

The backbone network for medical institutions of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region is organized on IP/MPLS technology. Communications in health facilities (so-called last mile) are constructed on GPON technology. Such combination allows to minimize solution maintenance expenses. In the project the equipment of the leading domestic and global manufacturers is used: Eltex, Juniper, APC, Power Engineering.

By means of the created medical network physicians of the region began to use reference books and documentation in a digital form. Electronic cards of the patient are entered. Doctors of the Novosibirsk region have an access to x-ray and tomographic pictures, analysis results, references of visitors.

"Now any inhabitant of the region can undergo inspection near the house, and the specialist in the medical center will make the diagnosis and will appoint treatment far off. Thanks to such approach by the patient it is not necessary to stand in queues and to run from one doctor to another, and health facilities automate routine processes. All this increases availability of medical care and service quality of patients, does more convenient and operational work of doctors and clinics in general", – Sergey Larin, the head of development department of information technologies of the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk region noted.

Creation of a single medical network simplified the centralized purchases of medicines and tools, their delivery in hospitals and clinics, issue of drugs to patients of preferential categories, etc.

The automated system of monitoring is implemented, it facilitates fault finding and minimizes a downtime of a system. Services in training of employees of the customer and development of the accompanying documentation were a part of the project.

"Actually our specialists built network of operator scale: it connected about 240 body of medical institutions in 34 districts of the area and Novosibirsk. It is a part of the big project on upgrade of medical services in the region. Earlier NVision Group created telemedicine network and improved contact center of the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk region", – Pavel Kaminsky, the director of the branch of NVision Siberia told.
