2024: Placement of SCS infrastructure in the "KII Cloud"
RTK-DPC and ITMO University have completed a project to place the critical infrastructure of the state information system "Modern Digital Educational Environment" (GIS SCOS) in the "KII Cloud." Rostelecom announced this on January 31, 2025.
The key task of the project is to ensure the protection of student data on the educational platform, to improve the quality of educational resources and their availability. The cloud platform allows you to scale the GIS SCS infrastructure when the number of system users changes.
The case differs in that it is implemented on the basis of the product "KII Cloud" (OKII). It was based on solutions from domestic manufacturers, including Basis, Yadro and Zvezda solutions. OKII has a certificate of compliance with the requirements of the Order of the FSTEC of Russia No. 239, confirming its ability to place significant objects of the KII up to the second category inclusive. Also, the cloud is certified for the placement of state information systems of the first class and the processing of personal data of the first level of security.
At the implementation stage, we managed to deploy the first stage of virtual machines for the educational platform in just one week. The main focus was on uninterrupted operation, minimizing downtime and maximum compliance with the requirements of state regulators, - said Alexander Obukhov, Product Director of RTK-DPC. - The project provides for unlimited scaling of the customer's IT infrastructure, including an increase in computing resources, communication channel bandwidth and disk space for storing information objects. This will allow you to adapt to the increase in load during the period of peak calls. |
The level of technical support for OKII differs from other clouds of the group of companies with significantly more stringent requirements. Their implementation is ensured by the allocation of separate sites for technical support administrators and additional training for the operation service. In the event of incidents or technical problems, RTK-DPC specialists provide users with prompt qualified assistance.
Placing GIS SCS on a cloud platform ensures high reliability and security. The infrastructure created is only the first step. In the future, using the capabilities of OKII, it is planned to expand the functionality of the educational platform and increase its performance. As of January 2025, more than 450 educational institutions and over 750 thousand users were registered in GIS SCOS, - said Vladimir Vitkin, Director of the Department for Development and Support of State Information Systems of ITMO University. |
