On July 1, 2016 the Softline company announced project completion of SAM CyberSecurity of the complex analysis of license compliance of the software of Microsoft at the Moscow jewelry plant Softline[1].
Project Tasks
The management of the Moscow jewelry plant needed exact understanding of a status of IT infrastructure for optimization of its further use and minimization of cost of support, connected with cyberrisks:
- data loss,
- cyberfraud,
- invasion threats
- leaks of confidential information.
The company made the decision on project implementation on inventory of program assets of Microsoft using SAM CyberSecurity methodology.
The partner for project implementation selected Softline company.
The list of the main objectives within the SAM CyberSecurity project:
- the analysis of documents of title concerning software of Microsoft;
- development of recommendations about necessary completions for respect for license purity of use of software of vendor;
- IT infrastructure assessment from the point of view of CyberSecurity;
- preparation of recommendations about decrease in legal and financial risks, on optimization of the existing IT infrastructure by cyber security.
Project Progress
For the analysis of IT infrastructure specialists used the solution Assessment and Planning Toolkit recommended to Microsoft. Specialists of the contractor booked audit on two geographically distributed platforms of the customer: license purity of the desktop systems working under management Microsoft Windows
- server hardware,
- Microsoft SQL databases,
- office applications.
Inventories underwent 523 VT devices — 516 Windows workstations and 7 servers.
Project Results
Based on a research specialists of Softline provided to the customer the report in which detailed recommendations about optimization of cost of support and further development of IT infrastructure are reflected. For process optimization of software lifecycle management of Microsoft Enterprise Agreement conclusion of an agreement is recommended.
The implemented SAM CyberSecurity project allowed the customer to provide higher level of network protection and to considerably reduce the costs connected with data loss, cyberfraud, threats of invasion and leak of confidential information. |
