Moscow Metro implemented technology of contactless payment of journey on the Moscow central ring

On February 29, 2016 the LANTER company announced end of a pilot project of implementation of a contactless payment method of journey by bank cards in SUE Moscow Metro.

For payment of journey it is necessary to attach the bank card with support of MasterCard PayPass/Visa PayWave technology on the additional reader device of a tourniquet and the amount equal to the cost of one trip according to the operating rates of Moscow Metro will be charged off the bank account of the client. That transaction took place successfully on the card there have to be means for acquisition of the ticket.

It is supposed that these will manage to save passengers from need to stand in a queue behind tickets in cash desks or terminals per hour peak that will affect the speed of a passenger traffic positively and will increase convenience of payment of transportation by passengers to the modern international standards.

We are glad to provide to passengers a modern payment method bank cards which does not require additional iterations on purchase and replenishment of the transport card. Passengers can use the same bank card for payment as purchases in shops, and for journey. Speed of decision-making does not exceed one second therefore I am confident that the new payment method will be demanded by a number of categories of passengers. Project Development

On October 19, 2016 the LANTER company started contactless payment of journey on the Moscow Central Ring (MCR).

The technology is available to passengers on one of tourniquets of the stations "Business Centre", "Kutuzovskaya", "Luzhniki", "Gagarin Square" and others. According to the statement of the company, until the end of the year LANTER is going to install more than 60 devices for contactless payment at 31 stations.

For payment of journey it is necessary to attach the proximity bank card or other carrier (phone, hours, a bracelet, etc.) with support of Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass technology on the upgraded reader device of a tourniquet. The amount equal to the cost of one trip according to the current rates will be charged off the bank account of the passenger MTSK. Modern payment devices at stations help passengers to select a convenient payment method of journey. Safety of performing transactions is ensured by the certified payment systems MasterCard and Visa.

As showed experience of the capital subway and also the subway Kazan and Novosibirsk where we implemented technologies of contactless payment of journey, payment of trips using Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass becomes more and more popular with passengers. With entry into the Russian market of technologies ApplePay and SamsungPay we expect repeated increase in number of users. There is no wonder, this solution saves from need to stand in a queue behind tickets in cash desks or to terminals. And in a case with ApplePay and SamsungPay – to take the card from a purse or to have it at itself.
