In Uzbekistan, from September 1, 2025, citizens of the country will be able to check into hotels without presenting a passport or other identity cards using the MyID system and face recognition technology. For identification, it will be enough to use a digital platform that will confirm the identity of the guest. This is stated in the decree of the President of the country, published in May 2025.
The new rule will come into force as part of the launch of the Unified National Tourism Platform in test mode. The innovation is aimed at simplifying the settlement procedure and increasing the convenience for residents of the country.
Uzbekistan allowedIn the personal offices of hotels and hotels connected to the Unified National Tourism Platform, the function of identifying guests using a QR code or face recognition system will be available. Such identification methods will eliminate the need to carry documents with you, which will simplify the registration process.
The platform will bring together a wide range of services for tourists. Through a single online resource, it will be possible to book hotels, rent cars, book taxis, buy tickets for transport, museums and attractions, as well as use the services of guides and guides.
Hotels integrated with the system will have access to digital tools to quickly verify the identity of guests. This solution will allow both local residents and foreign guests to plan trips through a single digital service.
As well as booking accommodation, the platform will offer the ability to book transport services including buses, trains and flights. It will also be possible to purchase tickets to museums or cultural events through the system, as well as hire professional guides for excursions.
The innovation will become part of the large-scale digitalization of the tourism industry in Uzbekistan. A single national tourism platform is being created for the convenience of users and to increase the attractiveness of the country for travelers.[1]
