2020: Free providing Cisco Webex platform

On April 20, 2020 it became known that Cisco free of charge provided to the St. Petersburg Mining University the Cisco Webex platform.

The St. Petersburg Mining University carried out the Russian selection stage of International contest of students and young scientists "Current problems of subsurface use" in an online format by means of Cisco Webex. Providing Webex to the university became a part of the program of Cisco within which the company on a free basis helps the Russian enterprises and the organizations to minimize influence of a pandemic of COVID-19 on workflows.

In 2020 in connection with quarantine measures we are forced to refuse a usual format. We are sincerely grateful to Cisco company which absolutely free of charge provided us for carrying out a selection stage of a forum the CiscoWebex platform. Until the end of June, 2020 using Cisco Webex the university can see to 1000 interactive actions at the same time. This initiative will allow us to implement the planned competitive activities on time, and to participants – to perform with the presentations of the scientific research before experts, to exchange experience with age-mates and to show the talents to potential employers, commented the dean of faculty of fundamental and humanitarian disciplines, the head of the department of information science and computer technologies of the St. Petersburg Mining University Alexey Makhovikov
