On February 19, 2016 the BearingPoint company announced implementation of the software complex of resource management of the enterprise on the platform of SAP solutions in Nordgold company. The department of information technologies of Severstal company took part in an implementation project.
Project Tasks
In 2012 Nordgold began deployment of a business system for the purpose of start of steady processes in all the production assets, in achievement their high efficiency, cost reductions and the greatest possible production security. All this required implementation of a uniform corporate information system of resource management of the enterprise.
The company selected the automation system of management processes on the basis of SAP solutions.
Project Progress
Set the task of creation of a system on the basis of the sample solution Severstal and the practician taking into account features of the international company Nordgold for a project team.
Specific processes of accounting demanded completions and modifications of the standard solution that it is dictated by the wide geography of the project which went out of the Russian Federation. A framework of the project included the gold mining enterprises in Russia, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso and Guinea.
In addition to SAP components of ERP (CO, FI, MM, PP), the project included the solution of personnel management SAP HCM - it is also implemented at the Nordgold enterprises in the Western Africa. For consolidation of data and preparation of the corporate reporting the SAP product BW, and for integration with accounting systems in production SAP MII is used.
Project Results
The project came to the end in June, 2015. The objects set by the customer are reached, and a system is transferred to support to Competence Center of Severstal company.
Reduction to the uniform standard of business processes of nine gold mining enterprises Nordgold located in the different countries of the world, their automation and integration using SAP solutions demanded considerable return of the many thousands Nordgold group. As a result of implementation of so large-scale project we achieved more operational providing reliable information about a status of business processes for timely acceptance of management decisions and also increased quality and speed of preparation of consolidated financial statements of Nordgold. Standardization of the cost accounting and enhanced capabilities of determination and assessment of the most effective processes in the company for their adaptation and implementation at other enterprises allow us to conduct active work on expense optimization and decrease in cost value. Due to reduction to a uniform template differences in management processes and supply at the different enterprises Nordgold were eliminated. Corporate standards will allow to transfer further service processes to uniform service centers that will give the chance to increase their quality and to reach additional economy. The Nordgold company received the modern management tool resources based on SAP ERP allowing not only to manage and optimize, but to control indicators the works that, undoubtedly, gives us competitive advantage in the gold mining market.
