2020: Completion of creation of a single system of scheduling of production
The Amount of Technologies company completed implementation of a single system of scheduling of production of PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC. It is one of key and most large-scale drafts of the Technology Break program implemented in the company since 2015 and directed to increase in efficiency of key processes - from extraction of ore before metal production. Norilsk Nickel reported about it on June 18, 2020.
The corporate system of supervisory control is put by production into commercial operation in JSC Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company since May, 2020 that became the final stage of system implementation in Norilsk Nickel. Earlier projects on implementation of scheduling of production were implemented in Polar branch and production department of head office. For June, 2020 a system functions in 18 production divisions of the company.
The single system of scheduling is intended for automation and process optimization of operational planning and production management at the level of the head company, production managements of branches and production and dispatching services of the enterprises. A system creates unified and open information environment for interaction of management of the company, heads of divisions, managers and masters during the forming and accomplishment of the production program.
A lot of work on systematization and standardization of processes and information flows of production planning and accounting is carried out, - Vadim Rozov, the project manager of Summa tekhnology LLC says. - Within this project we completely sorted and optimized channels of collecting and information transfer and also transferred numerous forms of the operational production reporting to an electronic form, digitized reconciliation procedures and the approvals of diagrams of production. |
One of key project objectives - increase in transparency of production processes due to the maximum digitalization of production accounting. Dispatching system allowed the company to avoid completely telephone collection of information and its fixing on paper carriers. All data on the course of technology process come to a system automatically. Each user, and it for June, 2020 about 400 employees in the Norilsk industrial region, 500 in JSC Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company and also more than 40 employees of the main office of the company, depending on a position have access to necessary data from production in a convenient format and with necessary detailing.
In addition to production accounting, in a system processes of operational planning and formation of decade and daily diagrams are automated. Dispatching system is capable to give the forecast of accomplishment of plans, comparing the actual measure value to the daily diagram. The manager one click of a mouse can calculate required performance for accomplishment of the daily diagram.
The system interface was studied so that from all amount of data to select those which at the specific moment have the greatest impact on production process. Also dispatching system transfers data to the adjacent MES systems which are used for formation of strategic plans of development of the company.
Automatic collecting of necessary data and the operational transparent reporting are base for information support of production management - Vladimir Trapezin, the director of automation and information transformation of production of PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC notes - system implementation of scheduling allowed to provide specialists and company executives with the tool of assessment of a status of all production and acceptance of operational management decisions |
2018: Development of the data warehouse based on the Wonderware platform
On October 31, 2018 the Amount of Technologies company reported that it developed storage based on the Wonderware platform for Norilsk Nickel. The storage allows to provide the high speed of collecting, data processing, their effective compression, storage and fast request processing of the adjacent systems.
The storage will be used as a source of operational and statistical information for decision support on planning and production management and also for the analysis of a condition of equipment and results of productive activity. Initial data 60 thousand process parameters from the enterprises in the cities of Norilsk and Talnakh gather and transferred to DPC of Polar branch PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC. Data on more than 30 thousand parameters from the enterprises located in the cities of Monchegorsk, Polar and Nickel come to DPC of JSC Kola MMC.
Data in divisions of the company are generated by a large number of systems with different structures of storage and providing. It did information search for adjacent divisions extremely labor-consuming. Start of storage allowed to create a source of reliable technology data and to provide their effective use. Vadim Naftal, head of industrial automation of IT Department of Norilsk Nickel company

The HTD PIMS project was one of key in the Technology Break program which is intended for creation of an effective system of multiple production planning with a possibility of marginal assessment of plans, control of their execution and synchronization in key performance indicators. Complete and reliable data on the actual production indicators are necessary for work of such system. A source of these data also is the storage. HTD PIMS is information base for target processes of the analysis of operational results, dispatching control, management of material flows, the estimates of a condition of equipment directed to increase in operational efficiency of the company. Within this project tough target indicators on the speed of collecting, processing and data transmission in the adjacent systems were set. With assistance of a project team of Norilsk Nickel a lot of work on creation of an information model of production, classification and coding of technology and production indicators, determination of optimal system architecture of collecting and data storage was carried out. Load and functional tests showed that target indicators of this project were reached. It is sure that now, in the presence of access to reliable data on the actual production indicators, the speed of emergence and implementation of the arising initiatives of Norilsk Nickel company of increase in operational efficiency will only increase.
