2025: Solvo.TOS Grant Agreement
On October 29, 2025, the Solvo IT company and St. Petersburg State University of Railways signed a cooperation agreement. Working in the educational version of the Solvo.TOS system, students of the first transport university in the country will be able to clearly study how business processes are arranged in the port and at the cargo terminal. The knowledge and skills gained in the future will help graduates in employment.
In 2024, the shortage of qualified workers in Russia reached a historic maximum in 16 years: Rosstat reported a shortage of 2.2 million specialists. Among others, personnel shortages are felt in the transport and logistics sector: according to forecasts of the Ministry of Labor by 2030, the shortage of personnel in logistics, including in the maritime and railway industries, will amount to at least 400 thousand people. In this regard, the burden on the educational system is growing: middle and senior educational institutions will have to quickly cover the personnel deficit and provide the market with employees who are ready to start work here and now.
The Solvo.EDU project, launched in 2024 by the developer of IT solutions for logistics "Solvo," is aimed at training qualified personnel for the transport industry. Colleges and universities concluding a cooperation agreement with Solvo gain access to the educational version of Solvo.TOS, a terminal management system that is installed in many large seaports and TLCs in Russia.
Studying the Solvo.TOS system in practical classes, students of specialized specialties get an idea of how the real business processes of the transshipment complex are arranged, work with documents, interaction between participants in the supply chain, enterprise sites and roles in production. These skills give graduates a significant advantage in employment and allow them to quickly join the workflow.
A cooperation agreement with Solvo has already been concluded by such universities as RUTH (MIIT), GUMRF named after Adm. Makarov and HSE. On October 29, 2025, the St. Petersburg State University of Railways of Emperor Alexander I (PGUPS), the first engineering transport university in Russia, founded in 1809, joined their list.
| An industrial partnership with companies that create and implement innovative solutions helps to form a practice-oriented approach among students. This is especially important in the context of a personnel shortage: graduates familiar with real IT tools will be able to quickly adapt to the requirements of employers and more efficiently get involved in production processes, "said Evgeny Korovyakovsky, associate professor at FSBEI HE PGUPS. |
| We develop our educational products in dialogue with the academic community, carefully monitor feedback from students and teachers and take it into account during refinements so that Solvo's solutions help colleges and universities perform educational tasks as efficiently as possible, "said Maxim Deberdeev, Sales and Marketing Director, Solvo. |
