2019: Automation of the main pipeline

On October 21, 2019 IT- the company Croc reported that it automated operation of the main pipeline "Petersburg Tractor Plant". Experts in industrial solutions improved the system of informatization of the pipeline and made it more technological. Now the staff of the plant can quickly solve production problems on each assembly section and plan operation of the pipeline.

Rate of production directly depends on effective work of each post of assembly. And in case of delays at least on one of sections, the pipeline completely stops. It leads to equipment downtimes, dead time and financial losses. Also many employees not always know whether they implement the operating plan for change and what is the time remains until the end of an assembly clock period.

For operational management of the course of release of tractors during change, specialists of CROC implemented the instrument of calculation of the operating plan taking into account clock periods of operation of the pipeline and the available order amount on tractors. It allowed to analyze in real time the plan fact of production and to quickly re-plan course of production during change.

To help the staff of the plant to monitor the course of assembly of products online and to quickly fix the arising problems, specialists of CROC set in workshop of 5 electronic information displays with the Digital Signage system. And also on each section of the pipeline panels with red, yellow and green buttons. From them information arrives on electronic boards, displaying the status and a work progress on the pipeline. Red color announces the shop manager and foremen the arisen problems, yellow — a work progress, and green — their end.

Electronic boards allow to manage flexibly cycles of production and to optimize a tractor assembly time. For example, if on some section transaction is executed earlier, it gives a green signal, and build process is started further. Workers do not need to wait when there is a time allowed for transaction. Such approach allows to save time, and in case of need, competently to plan resources for increase in production.

In addition to five electronic boards, in workshop of the pipeline CROC installed the videowall from 9 LCD panels on which operational information of electronic boards is duplicated, important corporate news and production indicators are displayed.

Upgrade of the pipeline of "Petersburg Tractor Plant' was necessary for release of the next generation of agricultural tractors.
