The Poligonpro career center gets terminal classes

Softline organized terminal classes using MultiPoint Server 2011 in the center of professional orientation of school students.

The Softline company implemented Microsoft Windows MultiPoint Server 2011 technology in the Center of professional orientation and profile training of Poligonpro of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. Workstations and server solutions of Aquarius company used as a hardware platform and also software of Microsoft allowed to organize terminal classes for the hall of the multimedia presentations and professional orientation testing and research laboratories of the Center.

Goal

The task of the organization of terminal classes for the hall of the multimedia presentations and professional orientation testing and research laboratories of the Center (physics of a microcosm and nanotechnologies, applied chemistry) on the basis of MultiPoint Server 2011 was set for Softline company. Preference was given to this solution in view of the fact that when choosing an educational and computer hardware, first of all, the innovation of technologies, efficiency of use of energy resources and high performance for work with large volumes of information were taken into account.

Particulars

As a hardware platform in the project workstations and server solutions of Aquarius company which technical characteristics met the main requirements of the customer were used. In particular, for ensuring process of studying of graphics editors and multimedia applications the Aquarius company created the special workstation of the teacher of the corresponding subject class. In its basis – the most powerful Intel processor Core i7 on a chipset 1136, 12 GB of RAM and a number of modern ergonomic solutions on placement of a large number of component parts in the computer case.

Results

In an implementation project deliverable in the Poligonpro Center fifty two workplaces using only four nodal computers were equipped. It is also important that pupils had not to undergo additional training – the PC interface usual and familiar according to other versions of Windows. In each workplace the same programs are available and to distribute some material, it is enough to be copied in the folder of the general documents. Each pupil performs tasks in an independent session, as when using the separate computer. Jobs do not encumber audience space – only one small computer functions. Economy of cost of the equipment and maintenance and also energy consumption reduction are obvious.

Sergey Lovyagin, the director of the Poligonpro Center, notes: "In all laboratories and workshops of our center studying of objects means use of information technologies. Each workplace of the pupil is equipped with the computer. In our center about seven thousand seniors of the district are trained. We are glad that the modern MultiPoint Server technology allows us to use optimum resources and to aim the saved funds at the further development".
